You are not obliged to be honourable though.
Quite true but I thought that being honourable was the right thing to do.
I mean, it just wouldn't be right to be dishonourable with anyone.
I act honourable and dishonourable with cold callers.
I talk but not very pleasantly because they have disturbed my peace.

I can as well.
I have a little fun with cold callers.
I have a notice of implied right of access on the door and if anyone ignores it they find themselves in trouble with me.
The notice generally works and the cold callers are few but you do get some ignorant people who ignore it.
You can even see some read the notice on my CCTV and they still knock :?

In a way but you can fight fire with fire.
The television licence people are being totally dishonourable by assuming that every household has a television.
They are disturbing your peace when they knock on your door after you have had a hard day at work and sitting at home eating your dinner.

I agree, but you could easily wink at them and then shut the door.
That way you have acknowledged the goons but made it clear they are not needed.

I admire what you say and you are correct but if they violate you in any way then being honourable goes out of the window.
