Old £1 coins no longer legal tender after 16 October 2017
Start your search now for the old pound coins if you live in the UK.
This is because after the weekend they will no longer be legal tender.
It means that businesses are no longer required to accept them.
Some will like the Pound Shop and a few others so hats off to them for that.
Obviously if you find any after this date you could also use a bank.
Spend, spend, spend

Re: Old £1 coins no longer legal tender after 16 October 2017
I actually like the new pound coins and really hate the old ones now.
Having dealt with money over the years I came across so many fakes, made of lead I think.
I would soil them slightly to demonstrate and hand them back so they couldn't pass them on to others
Yeah, I hate the old £1 coins with a vengeance.
