Apparently, Vauxhall have stated that the Zafira cars are safe it is only those that have had a repair to the air conditioning units that could have a problem. The replacement resistors are responsible for the overheating as they tend to fail.

Those Vauxhal Zafira owners who have never had the heating system repaired are ok.
If they are unsure whether a repair to the system was carried out or if they know there has been a repair should get their Zafira checked.

The Zafira cars were safe until the repair jobs were carried out to the heating system areas.
Oh well, now we have the cause I suppose the boffins will be able to clear the mess up.
