Tony Blackburn - sacked!

Post by Zero »

Tony Blackburn - sacked!

Another DJ has been sacked by the BBC.
Apparently a leaked report claims that he was quizzed in 1971 over the seduction of a 15 year old girl in 1971.
The girl later killed herself in the same year.
Blackburn says this never happened and is suing his bosses.

That's all it was - an interview with his chiefs at the time.
The girl and her mother withdrew the complaint and Tony Blackburn was alleged to be questioned by his bosses about it.
Blackburn says now that he has no recollection of that interview and they don't believe him so sacked him.
I guess its about trust and that if he was willing to talk about that incident to which he was not guilty for then he could have helped the enquiry what is going on.
It seems that the BBC took the decision because they feel Blackburn is not being honest.

Its been on the news that the BBC left the door open for Blackburn but he has declined it.
He says he has nothing to hide and why should he be made a scapegoat.
It does look as if Tony Blackburn is being honourable but the BBC feel as if they have to do something to make them look as if they are being tough.
I can see the BBC paying a lot of money to him.
That's OUR money :rolling:

The silly man.
He could have just went along with the enquiry.
It does show that he might have had something to hide when he didn't co-operate.
Tony Blackburn is a decent man and I have no doubt he had nothing to do with that girl.
I believe him anyway!
Keep the bastards honest.

He should have told them what they wanted to know.
What has he got to hide.
I believe him but pride comes before a fall and always has done.
I like Tony Blackburn - he was one of the better DJ's.
