DVLA - Sam Stephens Changes Name To Buzz Lightyear

After a year long battle, Sam Stephens has managed to get his driving licence changed to accommodate his new name - Buzz Lightyear.

After all, the name is only our strawman and we can change our name at any time we choose.
As long as its all in the legal field the DVLA shouldn't care because they will still be able to legally challenge anyone who changes their names because its only the name that matters.
Well done to the 26 year old for standing up to these people.
Can you imagine had the DVLA not went along with this you would have had a position where Buzz Lightyear might have been challenged under another name, Sam Stephens.
Well that could not happen because that isn't his name now.

If you change your name then every organisation no matter who they are will be obliged to adjust their paperwork accordingly and immediately.
How on earth can the DVLA use the wrong name for this person over the year if its not the correct one?
Strange.

Well of course the lad had the right to change his name and the DVLA should have changed his name on the licence immediately.

However, I suspect that in a few years time he will change his name back from Buzz Light year

Buzz is a decent name to have but Lightyear ..............

Buzz is all right as a name, after all Buzz walked on the Moon.
Even Lightyear is ok as a surname.
But, put them all together and you have one weird name that will raise the eyebrows while he chooses to use that name.
