Police are using a DAF truck so they can sit high up in their cabs to look down on motorists who may be using mobile phones.
The lorry is unmarked but it has got lights and a siren.
The police in Devon have recently used a few unmarked vehicles together and have caught out many people using phones, not wearing seat belts and even one truck driver cooking a meal on a hob in his cab!

The police have always been sly.
They can't work unless they are sly like this.

The horrible sods.
Re: Police in Devon using unmarked DAF truck to catch out motorists
Their Daf truck is an investment, they will create more money from it.
Re: Police in Devon using unmarked DAF truck to catch out motorists
Correct, but the figures are misleading somewhat.
I just saw a follow up on this police DAF lorry at the Huff.
In the 2 years the lorry was in use, they caught over 4,000 offenders.
Over 800 were given a fixed penalty notice and only 100 ended up with a prosecution.
However, whether all the money they got covers the cost is hard to say.

I doubt it, the costs of running a lorry for two years would be pretty high. However, if they have saved one life then it would be worth it. I am not all in favour of these spy wagons but what else is there to sort out the idiots?
