Safe storage of the title deeds for your home.
Just a little poser:
Where is the safest place to store the property deeds for your house or maybe a business if they have the same sort of things?
I have mine stored in a plastic container in the garage but I have recently noticed that there has been a mouse in there chewing things up.
Do we need to keep hold of these title deeds because I am sure the Land Registry will have a copy?
If the title deeds become illegible through storing them wrongly, would it be possible to get hold of a physical copy of them again?
My mortgage is all paid off now so I have to concentrate on the maintenance of the property and that is going to take quite a bit of time and money.
In the meantime, I need to know if these title deeds are so valuable that they need extra care because as it is they are very vulnerable the way I have stored them.
